So what exactly do I mean by “The Coin?” Easy there buckaroo! I’m gonna get to it. Why rush into everything? Take your time… smell the roses… relax!
Okay, now I’ll explain. Basically “the coin” is a terminology I use when there are two sides to something. Think of it as an argument: heads is pro and tails is con. It’s really easy to see it once you pay attention!
Anyway, school (and I’m refering to mainly junior high and high school here) is back in session and I couldn’t be happier. Do you remember that commercial from a few years ago about “back to school sales” where the kids are looking so morose and depressed in an aisle of Staples or someplace similar while their mother is dancing and throwing things in the cart while the song” It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” plays in the background? That’s me… only I don’t have kids. I enjoy going out and dining in restaurants, watching movies, and NOT being bothered by teenagers who think they’re so original and cool when basically they’re pulling the same shit I used to and my dad used to and, most likely, my grandfather used to pull. It’s rather annoying! So when school is back in session, the nights from Monday through Thursday are blissfully quiet and I’m able to do whatever I want with very little interruption by the youth of America.
On the other hand…
When school goes back into session, I have to wake up earlier and time my commute out a little longer due to the massive amounts of school buses and parental carpools on the road. I leave my house, go a fraction of a mile, make a left, make a left at the next block, go just shy of a mile, and then make a right. That part there MAYBE takes me a minute or two depending on if I catch a light or not. After that right, I am on the road for around 2 miles before I get on the interstate to head to work. That stretch of 2 miles that, during the summer, might take me another minute, takes me 10 during the school year at “rush-hour.”
So basically I get my patience tested, BUT I also get my solitude at night. Flip the coin… see what I mean?

Tonight was The Emmy Awards. For those of you out of the country or really just clueless about American television, The Emmy Awards are to honor “the best” of television in a variety of categories. As usual, 90% of my favorites lost. Jeremy Piven, Keifer Sutherland, and 24 all won in their categories… everyone else lost. My friends Brian & Shanna always rode my case to say that I picked losers in watching TV, but, in all actuality, a lot of my favorites were nominated tonight… they just didn’t win.
It’s the same way for The Academy Awards (also known as “The Oscars”)!! Either the movies I enjoy aren’t nominated or, if they are, they don’t win. I mean, honestly… the highlights of these two shows are the “In Memoriam” spots where they tell the audience which luminaries died since the last one!
Don’t even bother talking to me about those MTV “awards” shows they put on… It’s absolutely pathetic how bad they’ve become.
I think I’m going to start putting together my own Emmys & Oscars. They won’t feature statues (here’s an aside… what’s a “statuette?” Is it just “little statue” or did someone just get bored?) or shows, but I’ve got a BLOG so there. Maybe it will take off and become an internet phenomenon like The Razzies did except without the internet. I don’t know, but I guess we’ll see during The Academy Awards in 2007!

So I probably saw what is to be the last Terminal Lunchbox concert ever tonight. My buddy Pete finished up this chapter with my favorite TL song “Jessica Syndrome” and like that, the box was closed.
In a complete and utter rock ‘n’ roll maneuver, Pete, Jake, Tom, & Justin had the last drummer (Priscilla who would have celebrated her birthday on the 25th) on stage to join them for this last concert. If you re-read that sentence, you’ll say “Um… you said would have and not did right?” That’s right… Priscilla passed away early this year in an accident and the surviving members and replacements of Terminal Lunchbox brought her ashes on-stage as a final tribute. Let’s see Blind Melon do that!
Anyway, it’s the end of an era. Feel free to check them out on MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/terminallunchbox and leave notes.
On a final note, I finally saw another band play with them that I actually liked. The band was called Soraia and the lead singer just rocked me to no end. They are also on MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/soraia. Awesome shit man… awesome.
Thanks for the music Pete!!
Ya know what’s really funny? Someone who swears up and down that they don’t care what other people think about them and then they run and check everyone’s BLOGs to make sure no one is spreading facts… I mean lies about them. My how I love the self-righteousness of the insane.
Now me, for example, I never say I’m not going to check a website because, chances are, my curiousity will get the better of me during a bout of insomnia, and I’ll log in and look. What makes me different? I never say “I’m never doing this again!” I’m honest about my lack of will power
Okay… last night I had a very erotic dream about Pamela Anderson. There are a few problems with this:
- Only in very specific cases am I really attracted to blondes (such as my last girlfriend)
- Men have problems with self-esteem anyway… imagine being next in line after Tommy Lee and his elephantine appendage!
- If I wanted to fuck a Barbie doll, Toys R Us is right near where I work.
I will readily admit that Pamela Anderson was gorgeous before she became addicted to silicone. She had a tremendous body and the cutest smile. Numerous breast implants and lip-enhancing visits later, she resembles something out of a Sci-Fi movie than someone I’d kill to date. However logic just doesn’t usually enter into the dream realm right? I don’t really remember much about the dream itself other than it was definitely her and it was definitely me.
Now that I’ve said that, I’ve got nothing against Pamela Anderson by any stretch. She may be a wonderful person & mother, but I don’t know her personally. I’m just going with what I know through the ever-changing filter of our wonderful media. Besides… she just got married (multiple times) to Kid Rock, so she’s off the market anyway!
Weird… I have these really odd dreams and they feature the weirest combination of people, places, and things. The really odd part about this one is that I haven’t seen a picture, a video clip, or heard about Pam Anderson for a few weeks at least! I don’t know… maybe I just channeling Tommy Lee’s dreams.

Well anyone who’s been hanging out with me lately has seen my ghetto-phone. It’s a Samsung flip-phone from Verizon and I cracked the display early this year when I was at a Flyers game, put the phone in my pocket, and spidered the front display window because it was leaning up against my keys at the time. The Flyers scored, I stood. The swell ended, I sat… crack. Well I wanted to get it fixed, but it seemed like $50 was kind of ridiculous for a window on a phone as long as the phone itself was working. I let it go. Next my battery seemed to hold a charge for days on end in the beginning. About 6 months ago, I was lucky to get a day out of it. I asked how much a new battery was and it was $60. I said… I’ll just charge the bastard. No use paying $60 for a battery when I can just get around it by actually charging it up right? Well the straw broke last week when it turned out that my friends could not hear me at all when I called them. Yup… the microphone had died! Now folks, explain to me how a phone is inherently a phone when you cannot use it to communicate? I went to Verizon (again) and inquired about the price (again) and they said it was gonna be $50 to get them to send me a replacement phone of the same make and model as my current phone. I thought “Wow… I get a new display and a working phone again for $50!” The only downside is I have to keep my same battery, but I should have a working phone in the next 24 hours. That makes me happy.
As mentioned in Duke’s BLOG, it turns out that our fair planet Pluto is no longer a fully-fledged planet. No longer may we think of that barren ice-ball as a real planet because it’s now a “dwarf-planet” instead. Now that’s kinda wrong ya know? It’s basically what the Beatles did to Pete Best! Hey… you’re a valuable member of this group. Now you’re not. Go away! They’re saying that Pluto is automatically disqualified due to its orbit which brings it inside Neptune’s orbit at points along the way. Its a shame because I dug the fact that Pluto was a planet. I guess now they’re looking a little further out for orbiting bodies that will fit the criteria. In any case “Milky Way – Pluto = 8″ folks!
For the rest of this BLOG entry, it’s basically an explanation of my latest mood swing. It all has to do with another person’s mood swings and how they are affecting me. You all know me to be pretty logical, so when I can’t quantify something, it’s frustrating. When I can’t predict a mood, I get really upset because then my ass is on the line due to this weird fluctuation of behaviour. I don’t know why and I don’t know how, but it’s gotta stop!! Fun times in the O.K. Corral

Congrats to Dan & Kelly!!!

Firstly, I’m really really digging BBC-America as a channel. Right now, there are 4 television shows that I’m addicted to which air on that channel: Hex (on season break), Life on Mars, Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares (also known as Ramsay’s Killer Kitchens apparently), and Murder City. It’s really amazing that British shows are so radically different from American television and I love it! Well… maybe not radically different, but they are different enough to really break through my jaded idea of television. In any case, you really oughta check it out if you have satellite or digital cable.
Next… I think I live in a black hole of rain. There might be this huge storm swirling around and, as soon as it gets close to northern Delaware, it seemingly splits and goes above AND below New Castle County. We might get some spritz here and there, but nothing big lately. That really pisses me off too! I love my rain.
In any case, I’m off to bed.

So the past couple of days have been… fun. Tonight, I fully intended to chill out on the couch, but I got an offer from Mongoose & Mongette to grill and chill poolside. Can you honestly think I passed that up?
It was funny though… I turned down plans with 3 of my friends tonight because I was feeling blah and wanted to be alone (dramatic, I know… but still). Then ‘Goose called and I thought “Hmm… pool. That sounds really relaxing!” So I took him up on the offer. It was extremely chill and I am now completely reset from my week.
Tomorrow I have to go into work at 10am and I will be done working at 9pm tomorrow night. Sunday I’m working again and Sunday night we trek to The Ant-Hill for SummerSlam. Thank God for Sirius Satellite Radio for the ride to Middletowne!!!
Anyway… I’m off to watch Psych on USA. Peace!
